GOODYBE, SUMMER. No, like -- please leave. I'm ready for fall weather and hot drinks and crunchy leaves and all the goodness of these changing seasons :-) How has your summer been? Looks like I haven't written since June. WHOOOPS! A lot has happened since then.
Mid July, I moved into a darling little duplex with wood floors, windows in every room, a front yard and (BEST OF ALL!) a garage + driveway perfect for tiny house building.
in August, I worked a lot and focused on making sure my massage practice makes it through the transitions happening at Alchemy Wellness. Look for updates and events shared from my Wild Sanctuary Massage page + the main Alchemy page too :-) Fun things happening!
Beginning of September, one of my best friends (Olive) moved in with me when she returned to town for school. Also, my friend Callie told me about this old red barn across from her mother's house. She said I can have all the barn boards that I want and can pull off. YESSSS!!!!
So what does that mean for Luna?
Moving and work took up the summer. Adjusted plans go like this:
1)Get all the materials + trailer moved over from my parents barn. They spent a day loading most everything onto a trailer for me -- so it's almost all ready to go! I just have to move the things stored under my trailer and then she's ready to rock and roll. Thanks so much, Mom and Dad!
2)Get shelving put up on the walls to store lumber. Janet helped me clean up the floor of my garage after it flooded and I lost a bunch of wood :-( NOTE TO SELF: Living on a hill means nothing in a basement garage. Put your wood up on the walls RIGHT AWAY! I'm making a wall-mounted lumber rack by using heavy duty metal shelving brackets that hold 110lbs. Thanks google!
3)Go out to Callie's barn in October (with some friends?) and collect all the wood I need for flooring, exterior siding and interior wall finish. YAY! Rustic gorgeous history transformation <3 Also, it's yet another reminder that everything is actually unfolding in the perfect timing. Thanks, Universe!
Those are my three major Autumn Tiny House Plans. In addition, I want to get the plans (that Jim started helping me with in May, but we both got derailed with other projects) finished by November 1st.
OMG I CAN'T WAIT TILL APRIL!
So me and Janet's official One Year Anniversary (awww) is in February, and we were talking about what we should do for it. Taking a Tiny House Building Workshop came up (because we're cute like that), so I went off to do some googling. Turns out there is a Tiny House Conference happening in Asheville, North Carolina April 2-3rd! We've been wanting to go on vacation to Asheville, so this was perfect. Janet's golden birthday is the end of March, so we'll be making it a big two week trip adventure! All the camping and ziplining through the trees, and water-fall exploring, and art gallery seeing, and restaurant going, and brewery tasting, AND TINY HOUSE LEARNING! Speakers, a tools workshop, tiny houses to tour.
Later in April (and after our return) is my golden birthday :-D I'm going to throw a BIG, GORGEOUS BASH and ask for 2x4s in lieu of any other gifts. Because that seems like the perfect way to turn 27. Golden Dreams Coming True, Babes! Then, starting the first weekend in May I'll begin building FOR REAL REAL REAL REALS. Next summer, Luna will be #1 priority over pretty much all other life. Because 2016 is the year. And she's been a long time coming <3
But now, with the barn board finish and the floor plans perfected: I can see her. And she's so, so beautiful.
